Its expected to arrive in India in September, and yes, its going to be available on both Airtel and Vodafone. I hope they have 'Indianised' rate plans, the ones currently in US/UK are way too expensive. _________________ The king is dead. Long live the king! |

While america is going ballistic over Steve Jobs' announcement of the iPhone being half the price, it might actually be more expensive than you imagine.
Here is how: http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/94465
No doubt its a great phone, but is this a desperate attempt by Apple to stay ahead of the Android phones? Is samsung plotting to knock em off? _________________ Okay, who stopped the payment on my reality check? |

By some coincidence, I ran into an ex classmate who's working in the Android team at Google. Had a small discussion with him, he said its supposed to release very soon.
The credibility of Google in my eyes fell a bit after the OpenSocial fiasco. I hope they do a better job on this one. _________________ The king is dead. Long live the king! |

Root kit eh? Are you sure its that...and not anything else?
I don't think any of the anti virus programs can remove it.
Only option is to fully format (not quick format) your hard disk and install OS from scratch. _________________ The king is dead. Long live the king! |

e680i Linux OS.
I think it can be flashed. Let's see.
Linux makes it more difficult though. _________________ The surest sign that Intelligent Life exists is it hasn't tried to contact us.

the i-phone is the best cell phone ever made by mankind, period.
If samsung or nokia or sonyericsson or sanyo or siemens-BenQ or any other taiwanese (HTC) or chinese company trying to make a cell phone with any other OS will barely come close in terms of the overall ecosystem plug and play functionality and not to mention the Ooomph factor.
Save up for that i-phone and buy it i say! _________________ I am a bomb technician.... If you EVER see me running, try to catch up |

iPhone? Plug n Play? I can't believe this! You need iTunes latest installed. Not exactly drag n drop.
Not a big fan of the iphone. Why?
1. Speaker volume is not any louder than the ear piece volume. Ear piece volume is VERY low!
2. Can't transfer ANY file via bluetooth to any other phones, unless it's another iPhone (Not sure whether this is possible too)
3. Music quality - None
4. No options to install utilities, the ones are only from the apple site and some are free.
Things that only an iPhone has :
Audio 3.5mm jack
Videos - KICKASS clarity
Touchscreen - Incomparably the best
Airtel n Vodafone - 31k and 36.1k for the 8GB and 16GB respectively.

lol, looking at the price in india, i have to admit, i would backtrack on what i said earlier.
It still is a cool phone, coolness associated with it is second to none. But..would I pay Rs 31000 for it? I would think not.
To say the very least, i am disappointed with apple's pricing. This is 'supposed' to be a company which has an uncanny ability to judge what the customers want.
Not to mention, 3G speed on GSM is still not available in india. If they had a CDMA version of this which was sold through reliance, that would have been a different story considering atleast 3G is available there. _________________ I am a bomb technician.... This is not a true statement. If you jailbreak your phone, you have the whole world of Cydia open to you. Google it...its easy to jailbreak even the 3G i-phone. _________________ I am a bomb technician.... If you EVER see me running, try to catch up |
